Acts of vandalism against works of art are a common phenomenon in the history of art. The most often victims of the devastation and damage were paintings and sculptures. Damage may be a conscious action, aiming to destroy a particular artistic object, but also unintentional acts due to a lack of awareness of the artistic value of the object. SCUM is interested in it first option mentioned. Tools compiled by SCUM used to practice of acts of vandalism have been borrowed from the true histories documented by the police where they were used in actual attacks of vandalism against works of art.
