Andy Warhol – a self-portrait 2016, print on canvas, mixed media, 100×70 cm

Andy Warhol remains a symbolic figure to SCUM. It’s not just the person who provoked Valerin Solanas to a dramatic act – to an attempt to shoot him – but it is also the creator whom may be identified with the concept of success. Warhol is one of the most recognizable artists in the world that has become an obsession of SCUM. Their struggle directed against patriarchal social system, the dominance of the center and exclusion of non-normativity focuses here in a symbolic way on the image of the artist. The object created by SCUM is the result of exercises of acts of vandalism against works of art. Canvas has been destroyed, according to the rules, using the following everyday objects: an ax, ink, nail scissors, sulfuric acid, a lipstick, an egg, spray, a knife, a screwdriver, keys, a shoe, a hammer.
