Is it possible to be an effective activist and a good artist at the same time? Aren’t these two roles mutually exclusive? What does it mean for the art world and what does it mean for the individuals working for the benefit of the society? Is the above opposition legitimate in the first place? Or maybe one of these roles dominates over the other? Struggling with this double identification, Liliana Piskorska tackles the problem of appropriation and anxiety of appropriation in contemporary activist and artistic practices in which she participates (i.e. who and on what grounds takes over the tools and strategies of the other party?).
